How Hotep Jesus Chooses Who to Follow Back on Twitter!

Hotep Jesus

If you follow me on Twitter, which you probably do/did, you know what I mean when I reply, “Favorite sports team in the bio” or “Pronouns in the bio.”

If you don’t know what I mean, I’ll now explain.

If you see either of those red flags in someone’s Twitter bio, it means DO NOT engage! The pronoun people are impossible to have discourse with and any attempt to is guaranteed to be a complete waste of time! They do not want discourse; they want to ridicule you and pose as if they have the moral high ground.

If you see someone with their favorite sports team in their bio it means they have no life. As I’ve said about males with sports teams in their bio, “They’re not a man, they’re a fan.” No man should be a fan. That’s reserved for women and teenagers.

Now that we know who I won’t engage with and obviously will never follow, let’s discuss who I choose to follow back. Keep in mind that I’m not going to reveal all the markers for this decision making because then everyone will attempt to get a follow back based upon these measures. So, I’ll give you a high-level overview.

The first thing I look at is follower count and engagement. Engagement is important because some people will have thousands of followers with no engagement which means they basically have a dead account. If one has a great follow to follower ratio, I’ll follow back. But if you follow 10k people and have 10k followers, I’m probably not going to follow back because you’re using the antiquated method of follow-for-follow, which is weak. That’s exactly how you cultivate a low quality following.

Before I follow someone, I read their bio and this is a major deciding factor for me. I’ve followed many people who have less than ~1,000 followers because their bio told me that this person is someone I find interesting and would love to learn from.

This happened recently. Someone who follows only ~100 people and has just over 1,500 followers, followed me (I don’t see every person who follows me because some days I may get a few thousand followers and I won’t be able to keep up. But I try to see who follows me when I get a moment because I love adding quality to my feed).

(Sidebar: Many MMA, NFL alumni, other sports athletes, and public figures often follow me so I follow them back. Influential people get a follow back, as long as they’re not wack-job leftist journalists or some other miscreant socialist/progressive member. I hate it when they follow me. I’m sure they’re gathering intel for their communist masters.)

This new follower is a psychology expert. I immediately hit the follow button because I love studying psychology, since I am a marketer by trade, and I simply love studying human behavior. I had to lock this guy in so I can pick his brain.

Right after I followed him, he sent me a DM thanking me for the follow and so we began to chat. I told him my interest in following him and encouraged him to give me some reading material of his to study. He sent me a link to his book which I will devour this weekend.

To my delight, he said he purchased my marketing guide, “Dominate Twitter.”

His review was, “I’m digging your “Dominate Twitter.” I’ve purchased several of these Twitter courses. I was pleasantly surprised by yours, though. I prefer these kinds of “meta” approaches that are more about “how to think about doing” than “how to do.”

After I responded with gratitude, he continued, “I’ve always been drawn to iconoclasts. You’ve definitely carved out an iconoclastic persona. That’s why I bought your book. But I didn’t anticipate that you’d be THAT kind of thinker. Pleasantly surprised.”

I love the way he pointed out my “meta” approach because he’s right. I don’t do in your face marketing. I’ve always hated blatant marketing and advertising. I like the subtle approach. I play the long game. My type of marketing makes people want to introduce you to their momma (people have asked me to red-pill their leftist mom, to which I politely decline).

He said I teach “how to think about doing” as opposed to “how to do”, and he’s right. I absolutely loathe dependency. I want people to be independent. After I released Dominate Twitter, many of the influencers who read it, went out and created courses, and the people who take those courses, I call my grandchildren, as a joke.

If I teach you how to market, you’ll be coming back to me in the future, and I don’t want that. I teach you how to think about marketing so you’re not dependent upon me.

The people who contact me and ask questions after reading “Dominate Twitter” do exponentially better than those who don’t, however.

Only one reader went out of his way to meet me. He took me out to lunch once and I took him out to lunch once. Both times he cleverly picked my brain. He has since gone on to net over $500,000 in the last two years, from a Twitter account a fraction of the size of mine.

Realizing how much it makes a difference when someone has access to me, I decided to open myself up to anyone who wants to pick my brain. And that’s how the Mogul Summit was hatched.

This is a private focus group, which meets every Saturday afternoon, and gets access to my brain, my bag of automated tools and psychological hacks Sigmund Freud would be jealous of.

We cover EVERYTHING! For example, we may start out with your product, product design, product marketing, and branding. Then we’ll move to your marketplace like your website. We do deep-dives into SEO so you can rank on Google and get organic traffic (which is free advertising and playing the long game.) We’ll cover advertising, on and offline, and how much you can expect to spend. Most people don’t realize how far $5 goes. And of course, we cover how to effectively use social media so you can quit your job.

Ultimately, I want you to build a cult-like following which buys nearly everything you sell, without being a sleazy snake-oil salesman.

Lock in your seat now before the price goes up AGAIN! It used to be $97/mo and it’s now $197/mo. The next price hike may go up to $497/mo as seats fill up and become higher value. I don’t run discounts or sales on this.

Jab the link below to join me and others as we build the next generation of brands that frustrates the socialist structure trying to dominate America.
